CRESTLINE CCL 166 FAQS

The CCL 166 is designed for agencies that need more space, storage, and flexibility without sacrificing the reliability and long-term value Crestline is known for. Its 166″ x 96″ module provides an enhanced working environment with increased interior and exterior storage, improved ergonomics, and more room for crews and patient care. The CCL 166 is available in both Type I and Type III configurations to support a variety of fleet and operational needs.

Both configurations offer the same 166″ x 96″ module and 72″ of interior headroom, but they are built on different chassis and offer different payload and storage capabilities. The Type I is available on a Ford F450 and provides an anticipated 4,000-lb payload and 38% more ALS storage than the CCL 150. The Type III is available on a Ford E450 or Chevrolet G3500 and provides an anticipated payload of up to 4,500 lbs. and 25% more ALS storage than the CCL 150.

The Type I also includes enhancements to the cab console, full-width ALS storage, and HVAC system, giving agencies another way to configure the CCL 166 around their fleet and operational needs.

The CCL 166 Type I is available on a Ford F450 chassis. The CCL 166 Type III is available on a Ford E450 or Chevrolet G3500 cutaway chassis. RedSky can help you compare chassis options and determine the best configuration for your fleet.

The CCL 166 includes practical design elements focused on storage, accessibility, crew comfort, durability, and serviceability. Key features include an expanded S2 double-door compartment, increased ALS storage, a wider squad bench, enhanced structural strength, and HVAC improvements designed for greater comfort, reliability, and serviceability.

Like every Crestline ambulance, the CCL 166 also benefits from Crestline standard features such as aluminum extruded body construction, aluminum cabinetry, the MMC multiplex electrical system, CrestCoat powder coating, and a module designed to support future remounting.

The CCL 166 is backed by Crestline’s industry-leading warranty coverage, including a Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty, Limited Lifetime Paint Warranty, and Materials & Workmanship Conversion Warranty. Warranty coverage helps protect your investment while supporting the long-term service life and value of your ambulance.

The biggest difference is space. The CCL 166 has a 166″ module that is 16″ longer than the CCL 150, providing an expanded working environment with more room for crews, patient care, and storage. Depending on configuration, the CCL 166 provides 25% to 38% more ALS storage volume than the CCL 150, along with additional storage opportunities, including an S2 double-door compartment for increased exterior storage space.

Both models are designed around Crestline’s fleet-focused approach to durability, serviceability, and long-term value. The right choice depends on how much space, storage, and capacity your operation requires.
